Rating and Advancement Policy

Purpose:

The purpose of this policy is to define the methods and steps required for Iran vACC members to obtain their ATC ratings in Tehran FIR. Each section below will describe the terms required on obtaining the rating from a lower rate to the next higher rate starting from Student 1 up to a Senior Controller level. In addition to Vatsim Global Rating Policy, we are following below rules and regulations:

Observer (OBS) to Student 1 (S1)

Requirements:

  1. Completion of S1 Written Exam with a score of at least 80%.

  2. Successful consumption of any prescribed materials by instructors or mentors.

  3. Highly recommended to be at least Ten (10) Hours logged online with EuroScope as an Observer including Four (4) Hours as Tehran FIR Observer and the rest on other countries. Example of observing call sign <initial_OBS>. For example, if a member whose name is “Ahmad Mohammadi”, his Observing callsign should be: AM_OBS

  4. Minimum of 4 hours mentoring session required.

  5. Pass CPT exam. (CPT: Controller Practical Test)

Student 1 (S1) to Student 2 (S2)

Requirements:

  1. Completion of S2 Written Exam with a score of at least 80%.

  2. Completion of high-intensity GND OTS (Over-The-Shoulder) and introductory TWR scenarios.

  3. Participated in at least two vACC events as S1 controller.

  4. Activities and performance of S1 controllers monitor by mentors or instructors. This can be done either by signing off the user or be online with him/her during controlling. If they perform well enough then they are eligible to request for S2 rate.

  5. Minimum of 4 hours mentoring session required.

  6. Pass CPT exam.

Student 2 (S2) to Student 3 (S3)

Requirements:

  1. Completion of S3 Written Exam with a score of at least 80%.

  2. Completion of high-intensity TWR OTS (Over-The-Shoulder) and introductory APP scenarios.

  3. Participated in at least two vACC events as S2 controller.

  4. Activities and performance of S2 controllers monitor by mentors or instructors. This can be done either by signing off the user or be online with him/her during controlling. If they perform well enough then they are eligible to request for S3 rate.

  5. Minimum of 4 hours mentoring session required.

  6. Pass CPT exam.

Student 3 (S3) to Controller 1 (C1)

Requirements:

  1. Completion of C1 Written Exam with a score of at least 80%.

  2. Completion of high-intensity APP OTS (Over-The-Shoulder) and introductory CTR scenarios.

  3. Participated in at least two vACC events as S3 controller.

  4. Activities and performance of S3 controllers monitor by mentors or instructors. This can be done either by signing off the user or be online with him/her during controlling. If they perform well enough then they are eligible to request for C1 rate.

  5. Pass CPT exam.

Controller (C1) to Senior Controller (C3)

VATME / VATIR Policy:

A Senior Controller (C3) rating may be awarded to a controller already certified to provide standard VATSIM controller services described above AND who also provides other services NOT related to a control role covered by the ratings for: DEL, GND, TWR, APP, DEP or CTR. The rating of Senior Controller (C3) may be awarded by any VATSIM Division to give recognition of seniority, performance or any additional role beyond that of a normal Controller (C1) as determined by the local Region/Division.
